Grant us, Lord, hope in the next life. May all we say and do be motivated and inspired by hope in our salvation. May we hope and trust in your mercy for all our temporal needs. May we hope and pray for the salvation of others. May we place our hearts in you and others, in hope and love.
SECOND WEEK OF ADVENT – PRAYER OF PEACE
Grant us, Lord, peace in our hearts and peace with others. May peace begin with ourselves so that we may share it with others. May your peace, which the world cannot give, fill our hearts fully and to overflowing. May our peace be joined to your love.
Grant, Lord, peace where it is most difficult—in the war in Ukraine and in the conflicts of the Middle East. May everyone be willing to make the sacrifices necessary to achieve peace, because no one can have everything and everyone must give up something. May barbarity and cruelty end. May the impulse to kill be replaced with the desire to live in peace.
THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT – PRAYER OF JOY
Grant us, Lord, the joy of Christmas, joy in your birth and in our salvation. May spiritual joy lift up our hearts above every sadness and chase away every gloom. May our sufferings be united to the joy of loving you in our trials, for we know that everything proceeds from your wisdom and is willed by you in your unfathomable love. May we know the abundant joy of your presence in our hearts, leading us—in your mercy and under your guidance and protection—to everlasting life.
FOURTH WEEK OF ADVENT – PRAYER OF LOVE
Grant us, Lord, your gift of Divine love—the love that created the universe, the love that gave us your Only Begotten Son, our Savior, the love that dwells in our hearts in grace. May our hearts join in your love for all our brothers and sisters in Christ. May we be eternally united with the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the angels and saints, in the love of the Holy Trinity that is the beginning and end of everything created and good. Blessed be God forever!
CHRISTMAS DAY PRAYER
We give thanks, Lord, with hearts that are full, for the gift of your Only Begotten Son, our Savior. May the Blessed Trinity reign forever in our hearts—the Father of all, the Son who saves, the Holy Spirit who is your gift of love to us. May love ever be the reason for our being—love of God and everyone else through God. May our hearts be joined with those of Mary and Joseph, in the communion of all the angels and saints, in the birthplace of Jesus, Bethlehem. Blessed be God forever and always!
CHRISTMAS DAY PRAYER
