PRAYER TO ELIJAH THE PROPHET
O holy Elijah,
Favored one chosen by the Most High,
Herald of Yahweh,
Diviner of the voice of the Holy Spirit:
By your prayers,
The Lord restored to life the son of the widow of Zarephath,
He sent fire from heaven to consume your holocaust on Mount Carmel,
He delivered you from the pursuit of the murderous Jezebel and death.
Hear our prayers in our utter weakness and need,
Intercede for us powerfully before God,
Grant that the Lord may in His inexhaustible mercy hear our petitions
And grant them according to His supreme and unspeakable will. Amen.
